The Business Development and Marketing Manager role will have two primary functions. Firstly, is to generate business by interacting with GWM Advisors that have clients with restricted shares, discussing the pros and cons of various strategies, and making recommendations based upon the client’s goals and objectives. Additionally, the person will also be available for client calls, either via phone or in person when the situation warrants greater participation by an EFS representative. Lastly, business-generation activities could also include lead generation through research of public filings, as well as making presentations to the corporate executive suite for pre-IPO companies where Citigroup is acting as underwriter. In all cases, it will be necessary for the individual to foster a high level of coordination and cooperation with other business groups to ensure we are meetings the client’s needs across a broad spectrum of products and services.

The second primary function is to grow the restricted stock business by educating and training the sales force on identifying revenue opportunities in the area, as well as highlighting the benefits and drawbacks of specific strategies involving restricted shares. This would involve office visits, participation in Advisor conferences and conference calls, among other means of communication. To assist the person in this role, a legal team is in place to both provide legal counsel and due diligence on the nature of the restricted holdings. Furthermore, transactional teams are in place to execute on the desired strategy, ensuring that the transaction is executed properly, in a timely manner, and with the necessary follow up to the Advisor and client

Qualifications:


• Must have a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the restricted securities business, understanding the legal restrictions of the asset class as well as the possible strategies that could be employed on behalf of the shareholder
• Ideally, would have interfaced with an advisory-based sales force and be familiar with a broker/dealer business model
• Should have excellent communication skills, with a proactive, marketing-based personality
• Have strong creative and analytical skills in order to be able to identify potential revenue opportunities, and to develop creative solutions to meet the varying needs of a diverse advisor base and client base
• Must exhibit an ability to excel in an unstructured environment with limited managerial oversight, while achieving both tactical and strategic goals
• Minimum of five years of experience working specifically in the restricted/control/concentrated position field, with greater emphasis on the business development aspects of the field
• Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree in law or business helpful
